Spring Tips by Refinery

The Ultimate Spring Beauty Tip Sheet

With one almost-70-degree day under our belts, spring is most definitely at our fingertips (and it's universally official on March 20!). While we have limitless amounts of inspiration for giving your closet a major clean-out and priming your wardrobe with all things feminine and light, it's also time to get your beauty routine in shape. Your nails, skin, and hair all need special attention to reveal that pretty spring-to-summer glow that can shed a very long winter in a heartbeat. From switching out your liquid makeup to freshening up your locks, we've tracked down four top beauty experts to provide you with the ultimate mini tip-sheet for getting pretty this spring in a jiffy.

Hair
—Trim Plus Texture

"Make sure you get a trim each season, to keep ends healthy," says celebrity stylist Theodor Leaf. "But if you're looking for a quick, 3-minute style pick-me-up, create easy beach waves with just dry shampoo and a curling wand. Spray dry shampoo at the roots to add texture and volume, then take pieces of hair at the crown and wrap them around the curling wand. Finish by curling a few pieces in front." Extra credit: We also recommend an easy at home-conditioning treatment to restore any moisture the cold and dry heat have zapped from your locks.

 Makeup—Less Is More

"I automatically switch from my creamier liquid makeup that helped in the dry winter months to my lighter Airbrush Spray Makeup that's perfect for the hotter, more humid months," says makeup artist Carmindy. "It's lightweight but provides enough coverage; spray it into your palms and apply with fingertips." Extra credit: Try a tinted moisturizer with SPF protection to add a subtle glow to sun-starved skin.

Skin—Magic Potion

NYC Aesthetician Andrea DeSimone recommends changing your skin care with the season: "Don’t use the same rich, winter moisturizer during the spring and summer. Instead, use a thinner serum or moisturizer under your sunscreen. Keep greasy skin at bay and mattify your complexion with rice papers or use an oil-free moisturizer during the more humid months." Extra credit: Add a works-while-you-sleep night treatment to your routine to even out skin tone, help clear up breakouts, and pump skin with vitamins and antioxidants, so you'll always wake up looking radiant.

Nails—Short & Sweet

While your nail length and color is ultimately up to you, CND Celebrity Nail Professional Roxanne Valinoti says, "In general, neutral shades like porcelain peach or nearly nudes—which are always big for spring—look best on shorter, softer nail shapes like round and oval, while pointier shapes and longer nails can pull off bright, intense colors and edgier designs." Extra credit: Use an natural almost oil to moisturize extra dry cuticles (don't forget your toes). This versatile miracle moisturizer is also great for smoothing lips and dry patches.

Best Skin Care Tips For The Freshest and Cleanest Feel.
(products included)

Start off by using a makeup remover or my favorite Baby Oil with a soft cotton ball/pa

     * These can be bought from Walmart for ;
Baby Oil: $4-6
Cotton Balls/Pads: $1-2
     * Try not to Rub this on your face, It's best to simply  glide over face.

Use any kind of salicylic acid pads or Cleansers and glide it all over your face.

    * This step ensures acne is treated right at it's source
    * We suggest Oxy Pore, I've used them to treat a zit, and I just fell in love. Click Here to go through different kinds of product by these guys.
    * You can buy these at Walmart for $5-10.

After use a super gentle face wash to rid yourself of impurities embedded deep within your skin.

   * Start off by applying the face wash directly and gently massage it all over your face.
   * We suggest leaving the wash on your face for 30 seconds, this will help the wash seep into skin and really pull out what doesn't belong.
   * There are many face washes on the market, we suggest "St.Ives" or "Freemans", both of these products can be found at Walmart for $3-10. Other alternatives such as "Neutrogena", "Aveeno" and "Clean and Clear" are also great, but try to go something that's more for daily use and sensitive skin. (because we already have put our skin through enough chemicals)

Make sure to moisturize your skin with a light weight moisturizer.
  * Moisturizing your skin is the most important part of skin care, it allows the skin to suck in extra moisture, leaving it soft and smooth.
  * The moisturizers we suggest are "Aveeno"! But If you really want to give your skin a treat; Our ultimate pick is 100% Natural Aloe Vera Gel!
  * Aloe Vera Gel is by Fruit of the Earth, it is available at Walmart for $5-6
(If you would like RBT to feature ALOE VERA GEL and it's uses and benefits, Keep checking back, or leave us a comment, we will get right to it)

These are the steps I take to give me the ultimate clean! You don't have to take each step, you can definitely improvise or add on some of your own tips. We would love to hear what you guys do!

Mythical beauties - Mermaid

Overview and etymology

The word is a compound of mere, the Old English word for "sea", and maid, a woman. The male equivalent is a merman.
Much like sirens, mermaids will sing to people or to gods to enchant them, distracting them from their work and causing people to walk off a ship's deck or to run their ship aground. Other stories depict mermaids squeezing the life out of drowning men while attempting to rescue them. They are also said to carry humans down to their underwater kingdoms. In Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid, it is said that mermaids forget that humans cannot breathe underwater, while other stories say they drown men out of spite, while still other fables portray mermaids as benevolent toward men.[citation needed]
The sirens of Greek mythology are sometimes portrayed in later folklore as mermaid-like; in fact, some languages use the same word for both bird and fish creatures, such as the Maltese word 'sirena'. Other related types of mythical or legendary creatures are water fairies (e.g., various water nymphs) and selkies, animals that can transform themselves from seals to humans.[WIKIPEDIA)

Makeover challenge, RENEE OLSTEAD!
Okay let me be honest, I had no idea who Renee Olstead was, till I read recently about her *nude* pictures scandal (we won't be linking the photos), this 21 year old has been a regular on secret life of the American teenager!

Okay so I think Renee is so totaly gorgeous, but we at RBT really like gorgeous tanned skins, and to die for hair, and all the sexy hollywood beauty we can find!

This woman is 21 years old, and she looks like someone out of a disney corporation factory, I really think she needs to make her look more edgier, and ofcourse putting on the sexiest threads! (NOT TAKING THEM OFF RENEE!)

For Renee, We opted for a darker hair color for sure, we wanted to keep her close to her ginger but make it look more radiant and dimensional. For her eyes, it was to keep the look very spring and sexy, so we a mix of well blended golden yellows and silvers/champagne was the perfect combination, keeping her signature thick liner for lots of drama. Tanned skin provided the perfect base, which we kept neutral and opted for a full bright peachy red lips. This compliments her skin color and brings out her small pout!
More tips (if your hair/skin/eyes) matches Renee
Go for something a little bit more electrifying, if you are into the sexy glamorous yet eye catching dramatic look, opt for the Jessica alba red hair!
If you want the plain and simple hair, Multi-dimensional color will be the best, go for rich tea/coffee reds, which will instantly add lustrous shine and boost to your plain jane ginger hair

I adore tanned skin, so if you cant face a tanning bed PLEASE GO FOR A SUNLESS TANNER or SPRAY TANS!
Don't go jersey shore up in this B***H

St. Paddys day Style (Must see)

Ahh..my dear blog How I've missed you, and what a time to make a comeback then St.Paddy's day. We all know its cool to wear tons of green on this day, but we never know where to stop. Girls stop
We've put together coolest ways to wear green, without over-doing it!!!

1- Nails!

Nails are a great way to show your spirit without over doing the hue, go for a green that is super work friendly or just add a cool clover to your thumbs to get into the spirit! You can even add some green glittery overcoats.
RBT Insider Tip (original) - If you can't wear such bold hues for whatever reason you may have, you can still add that shamrock color! Buy any type of clear nail polish (sally hansen) and take some of your favorite green nail polish and mix it right into the clear nail polish! (make sure not to mix a lot, enough so it comes off as a tint). Also pick a shade that is a bit bright, like grass hopper green! Nail Tints are going to be huge, its totaly a twist on a classic french manicure as well!

(thanks to the gloss)

You don't have to wear exactly the same things, but use this as a guideline!
Switch the white leg trouser with White jeans, or even light blue jeans!!

Opt for green heels if you want to go really bold!

Reese Witherspoon's gorgeous hair

There are way to many gorgeous celebrities in Hollywood to follow, but there are some stars that no one can get out of their style books!!

Reese Witherspoon is gorgeous at any age, but her hair tells the real tale!

-To get this look, start off by shampoo and conditioning your hair with a volume and/or curl enhancing S&C combo!
- Towel dry your hair and apply an anti-frizz serum like garnier fruitics!
Tip: if you blow dry when your hair is really wet, it's super damaging, and to me weighs hair down, so towel dry is the best option!
Tip: Apple a little bit of mousse on your roots to get soft and sexy volume.
- When you blow dry your hair, place the dryer at the top of your head, and twist your hair while you blow dry it (Leave a comment if you can't understand how to do this).
- After your hair is dry, use a thicker curling iron (preferably 11/2 inch) to create Reese's soft curls!
- Use a straighter to get her perfect sleek and sexy bangs!

-To get this look, start off by shampoo and conditioning your hair with a moisturizing/straight enhancing S&C combo!

- Towel dry your hair and apply an anti-frizz serum like garnier fruitics!

Tip: if you blow dry when your hair is really wet, it's super damaging.
Tip: Apple a little bit of mousse on your roots to get a slight bit of volume, so when you straighten your hair, it's not limp!

- When you blow dry your hair, place the dryer at the top of your head, and comb your hair through
- Keeping doing this, till your hair is 90% dry!

Tip: It's best to do your makeup now, because you need to give your hair time to relax. Or give your hair 10-20 minutes, before continuing.

- After you are done your makeup or waiting 10-20 minutes, then blow dry your hair to completely dry!
- Spray on some straightening spray such as Loreal Hot Straight (spray) and comb your hair through.
- Continue with a straightener
Tip: Comb every strand before you straighten it!

Finish off with a finishing spray!

See you on the red carpet;)

Spring time it Is

I LOVE THIS WEBSITE
(all contents from this page belong to that website)

Lips with a bright, citrus crush. Eyes that smolder with subtle hits of color. Cheeks aglow with sunny flashes of fuchsia. Pinks that are so bubblegum sweet, we almost get a sugar rush. Yep, spring 2011 makeup trends are heating up, and we're more than ready to take on some meltingly hot hues that really grab spring's punched up feeling (and leave winter's darker-tinged vibe behind). Here are five fresh spring 2011 makeup colors that are sure to turn up the heat pronto.

Lip Service—Coral kissers are the rock-solid shade of the season. Dive in with a super-saturated orange, or ease in with softer coral-meets-peach shades. Either end of the spectrum is a chic way to reinvent the statement lip.
